Words to Live by: Carpe Diem.

Carpe Diem

Meaning: Seize the day.

You may have noticed the line I always use at the end of my blog posts and I felt that now was a good time to share my view on this life lesson.

Carpe Diem is something I personally live by and I feel as if sometimes people need to be reminded of its meaning.

Which is why I end my blog posts with it and am writing this one.

I live by the idea that life is short, we may try to elongate life or preserve our youth but ultimately we are confined to a few years on this precious planet. With that being said it becomes our duty to make sure that we can look back on the life we have been given and rejoice in the knowledge that you lived your life to the fullest. That despite the ups and downs, you learned from your mistakes and are content with the life you led.

Carpe Diem is especially important to me since it is the reason I created this blog in the first place. I have always enjoyed writing and sharing my thoughts and insights on all things that I enjoyed or I felt needed addressing. And have always felt that a blog would be a fun way for me to do this. But I never felt that I had the courage to it, or the power to take charge and follow a passion of mine. Whether I was scared of what people would think or whether I personally thought I could not do it, I determined that I could not do it.  Until two years ago when I wrote my First Post, and after a year and a half of bouncing back and forth about ideas of what I wanted to write about I kickstarted my blog 6 months ago and began this journey.

This is just one example among many of the impact Carpe Diem has had on me. Carpe Diem embodies so many things I believe in and I hope you see the benefit of living a life in which you are grasping opportunities, taking chances, and going on adventures.

I hope this little post has inspired a few of you to take charge of your life or to take charge of it even more than before. Make choices, make mistakes, but ultimately live your life to its fullest. Don’t hesitate or live in the what if’s it is time to recognize that it is your duty to live your life, don’t worry about what others will think or how they will respond. It is your life and you are the one who will look back on it, nobody else.

So go out and live your life and do what makes you happy or start doing things that can lead to your happiness.

It is your time. It is my time. It is our time.

Carpe Diem.
